Classique Event for 2011 is planned for 29 September 2011 - 2 October 2011

MESSAGE FROM Trevor Lövgren.  I am especially privileged to welcome our visitors from all over to our International Classique Competitions, which has been in it's present format for the past 30 years. We do hope that our visitors are able to enjoy the many delights our fair country has to offer.

The team events always promise to be hotly contested.   I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the companies and individuals who have helped us in entertaining our visitors and giving the true South African hospitality in the way that only South Africans can.

The third decade of the International Classique Equestrian Show is well on its way!

This year, once again, we should have teams arriving from around the world. It is early days yet and we are still working on the planning and invitations to competitors and sponsors. At this stage all I can say is... "Riders do your best as all eyes will be on you during this time, have fun and Good Luck" - Trevor Lövgren LET US NEVER FORGET THAT OUR SPORT - SHOWJUMPING - IS THE ULTIMATE WINNER

South Africans edge

New Zealand  in

International Classique 2010

Equestrian International Stables in Benoni gave showjumping lovers a treat over the weekend, with an International Classique Equestrian Show exhibition horse riding of a top class standard.

The International Classique Equestrian Show was organised and the venue was provided by Trevor Lövgren, of Equestrian International Stables, in Benoni.

The riders' trainer and Chef d'Equipe gave special thanks to Lövgren and his staff for their efforts in arranging the team event.

The South African Pony Rider team comprised Miya Momberg, Alexa Stais, Laurence Mowatt and Benonian, Forrest Lövgren.

All the team members have had extensive experience and ridden in many prestigious shows this year, gaining numerous successes.

The team were delighted to have this opportunity to ride against top class pony riders from New Zealand.

Our South African team won. Hopefully soon the two teams will have a re match in New Zealand.

2010 - Pony riders arrive safe and sound in South Africa

By ESNZ

Emily Fraser, Olivia Robertson, Paxton Conder, and Sam Matthews will compete at the International Classique this weekend on borrowed ponies against South Africa.  All riders are currently competing well at Grand Prix level and were excited about the prospect of competing in South Africa.

Lisa Coupe has accompanied the team as Trainer. Coupe herself has had a successful Showjumping career on ponies through to World Cup level and has previously competed in South Africa as part of the New Zealand Tri Nations Team.

Coupe is currently completing a post graduate diploma in sport management and feels that training this team givers her the opportunity to give something back into the sport.

The team were greeted by local media at the airport and were interviewed for TV. They will have a couple of days to recover from the long flight and the organising committee have set up a trip to a Lion Park. The competition will run from Thursday through to Sunday.
